"For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."
— Acts 5:38b-39
Word for today
Some of your most life-enriching experiences will come during your worst moments-when your heart is broken, when you feel abandoned, when you’re out of options, when your pain levels go through the roof-and you turn to God. That’s when you learn to pray heartfelt, honest-to-God prayers. When you’re in pain you don’t have the energy for superficial ones. And that’s when you discover, ‘The Lord is close to the broken hearted’ (Ps 34:18 NLT) … Your problems force you to look to God and depend on Him instead of yourself.
"Remember that the world is so much bigger than your class, year, school even. Just get out alive and then life really starts."

"After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning and company doesn’t mean security, and you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child, and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure… that you really are strong, and you really do have worth."
