Today I saw ‘Now Is Good’
The much-anticipated drama based on the acclaimed novel ‘Before I Die’ has been the one film I’ve been waiting all summer to see. It did not disappoint. The story line was so lucid and the characters so believable. Not all the jokes were funny and not all the characters were particularly affable, but, nevertheless, I enjoyed it. In fact, I’ll go as far as saying I have a new favourite. Yes, to me, it was better than Moonrise Kingdom.
I do wish that someday somebody would make a film not starring middle classed rich kids who seem to have it all, regardless of their scripted woes. I’d love to see a film with protagonists who are poor without being pitied. If that’s even possible.
