Never Let Me Go. Where do I even begin to describe the amazingness of this film? From start to finish, I was completely absorbed by the plot. Anxiously waiting to discover what exactly was going on in the first half of the film, made the experience even more thrilling; I do love an intelligent plot. Plots like this compel you to sit up and pay attention. I pity those who made the regrettable decision to use the bathroom during the performance. I could not have left my seat even I wanted to - I was far too engrossed in the story. The story of blossoming, young love, the mystery of the science-fictional elements and the eventual, anticipated heart-break. Honestly, I do not know how it is possible that only one other person out of the three people I went to see it with cried. Unbelievable. The costume design - by Rachel Flemmng and Steven Noble, in case you were wondering - alone would have been enough to bring a tear to my eye. It was stunning! I could have worn every outfit from every seen, including Andrew Garfield’s. How hot is he, by the way? Gosh. I had never noticed how gorgeous he is until I saw him looking so genuinely vulnerable and sweet as Tommy. His performance was effortlessly and believably faultless; I adore his character. I was surprised, however, that Kiera Knightley didn’t steal the show. I expected that she would, but her performance -and character, which I found quite annoying at time - was quite overshadowed by her castmates, specifically Carey Mulligan. She played Kathy, the protagonist, so well - truly moving. I am definitely a fan. To conclude (this was not intended to be so long!), Never Let Me Go was an intriguing, thought-provoking, smash-hit of a romantic drama with many scenes that will stick with me for a long time.
